Under the led lighting on the tennis court that my sponsor sportlighting group have installed I played my first game with the Green ball (stage 1) at the BrinQer-VEGO Tournament 2025. Unfortunately, my preparation did not go as hoped.

My sister had to play at 18:00, so we got there at 17:45 to sign her in. At 17:50, my opponent came in and said we could start because Julian was already there. My father and I looked at each other strangely for a moment. My father then went to the match officials to check, and they confirmed that it was correct and so I had to play tennis immediately.

We rushed home to pick up my tennis bag and such. At 18:15 I was on the court and after a short warm-up, the match could begin.

The match started intense right away; often the score was 30-40 or 40-40. Unfortunately, the ball just did not fall in my favor, and I lost the first set 2-4.

In the second set, I started strong and quickly got ahead 2-1. Then I struggled, as my opponent recovered and brought the score first to 3-3 and then to 3-4. I unfortunately failed to come back to 4-4 and win a tie-break, making the final score 2-4 and 3-5.

On Thursday I will play my second match.
